Description

This is my submission to the April contest at :iconstill-life-stills:!
I could of done a lot more with this but due to lack of proper equipment and time I was unable to. I should of made time earlier in the week, set aside a whole day for this but hey, some times doing what you can is better than nothing.
My main issue with it is the focus. That was my fault completely however I was running out of time to shoot so I had to go with what I got. I was also having a hard time seeing exactly how focused it was in my viewfinder. Could be inexperience or just not used to the camera  Either way, tell me what you think! I know it is very flawed, any advise on how to improve is always welcomed :D

A nice overall image but it lacks impact. I think it would have been more interesting if you have taken this from a different angle and maybe a bit more up close. For example, sitting at the table or crouching by it. The presentation of the biscuits in a fan on the saucer was a good idea but again I think it would have been a interesting image up close with the back ground falling out of focus. You said that you were concerned with the focus; well then, I can suggest shooting in aperture priority mode at the lowest f-stop that you can. Tilting the camera would give it more interest as well. I didn't much like the yellow lighting, and to my mind it would have been better if you had used natural light; which you could get by shooting the photograph outside or near a window in daylight unless you were aiming for this kind of lighting. Also to make the crockery look whiter, you could have changed your camera's white balance, though I'm not certain which setting is best for indoor lighting.
